I love this book! It contains the classic Hungarian recipes my family love.The comments about adapting recipes are spot on imho; very similar to the changes adaptations my family have made in the UK. Overall very similar to the way my family do things which is a testament to the cooking abilities considering my Hungarian great-Nagymama showed my Italian Nona via a language barrier!The author has made a good job of recording recipes traditionally done by experience & eye rather than weight & volume.

Average, simple recipes. If you have a knowledge of basic Hungarian cuisine, then there's nothing much new. There are some interesting anecdotes. I like that recipe titles are in English and Hungarian. Pics are in b/w. Decent book for novice cooks and/or introduction to Hungarian cooking.

Small, not that many worthwhile recipes. No colour pictures at all. I wouldn't buy this again. Better alternatives out there. I bought this as gift so I am not too concerned.

Recepies are ok (and its what this is about) BUT book is pocketbook format and has NO images at all...Bought it as a present. Not useful alike as images make u understand the dish....Will look further for other hungarian dining books
