The edges around the holes on the outside of the colander are slightly rough so slightly difficult to clean but not a big problem. They're stable even with heavy fruit in them. Being fairly thin metal you shouldn't bang them around but neither do they have to be treated delicately. Truly stainless--no rust at all. Like them better than other colanders we've had. They're also nice-looking.

This colander met all my expectations as far as design goes. Its sturdy, not a wire mesh. Its got a tall base so your food is far away from the bottom of the sink. Its holes are fine, so you don't have thin noodles or rice poking through the perforations. My only regret is that i bought the 3 quart size, which is a little small for what im used to. Do yourself a favor and spend $5 more on the 5 quart colander, you'll love it.

I love this smaller size Endurance colander. I have had the larger sized one for years. I frequently wished for a smaller one for smaller jobs. One day I happened across the smaller one. I use this thing almost daily. Rinses fruit, I toss shrimp in and put it in the fridge for them to dry, same thing with boiled eggs, and so much more. It cleans very easily. So handy!

Bought this for myself after purchased as gift for friend from her wish list, however, I was disappointed on receipt. It is kind of finish that tarnishes if left wet and or used in the dishwasher. It is not a shiny silver that I expected and feels kind of rough when handled. It is a nice size for small vegetables and fruits like berries but holes are very tiny so it holds more water than I think it should when rinsing items.

I got both the 3qt and the 5qt. These are hands-down the best colanders I've ever had. The holes are in a very fine pattern, but they are extremely sturdy because they're punched out of one piece of steel. I also like the fact that they are on a little pedestal instead of legs, since I use a rack in the bottom of my sink which makes using things with legs inconvenient.I like these so well I will be giving them as gifts to people I know who like to cook. Everyone who cooks should have one of these colanders!
