The sharpener did a great job of sharpening when I first got it. However, in less than 6 months, the knives didn't come out quite as sharp as they did in the beginning. After less than a year, their sharpness was just mediocre. Also, the honing wheel began to wobble (at least I felt the knife shaking as I drew it through and patterns began to show on the knife). I called the company and was told that the wheels do deteriorate after a time (I do not use the sharpener very often). However, unlike Amazon, I was told I had to return the sharpener (at their expense) and they would decide if I had a problem or not and, if so, what they will do. The sharpener was still under warranty. The turnaround time, I was told, would be about three weeks because the technician who appraises the return is very busy (hmmm, I wonder why).
