Es un libro hermoso con mucha información valiosa. Lo recomiendo ampliamente para informarte, pero también tener en cuenta que tus expec de parir no sean en comparación de las experiencias que comparten en el libro. La realidad de nuestro siglo y sobretodo en ciudades, es que el parto aunque sea muy humanizado y respetado y sin violencia, es muy diferente a cómo lo platican en el libro. No necesariamente malo, simplemente diferente.

Enjoyed this classic book which is empowering to women and natural childbirth. I did feel it was a bit dated and tailored to US and involved some hospital scare mongering, which is perhaps more valid for the US. I did have my previous children in hospital here in Canada, and it wasn't as bad as portrayed here, though I would have appreciated having read this book as well back then. Has made me seriously reconsider possibility of a home birth with a midwife this time around though.

I bought this book to prepare for the birth of my daughter back in 2011, and I am constantly lending it out to my pregnant friends and family to read. It's such an empowering book during a time when everyone is telling you scary and dramatic labour stories, but women have been giving birth from the beginning of time and we need to embrace the power within us to go through it.

All pregnant lady’s should read this book. It’s a sincere and nice talk experience for a new mom and even moms that want to know more information in the second pregnancy. We all can have a humanize delivery if we have knowledge. This book it’s a weapon against doctors and nurse that want to impose how we should delivery our baby.

As someone who was always very fearful of birth because of my mother’s traumatic experiences this book helped me humanize and actually become excited about giving birth to my baby. The birth stories are beautiful and real - an aspect you won’t find in other books. I truly loved this and think this is an invaluable and important read for every mom to be no matter what type of birth (hospital, home, birth Centre) you are planning on having.

I didn't mind reading this book. I did skip reading through the entire stories at the beginning of the book. I thought it would be a little more interactive and provide actual illustration for different birthing positions etc. I finished reading Active Birth by Janet Balaska first, and I found that to be a lot more educational, especially for a first time mom. This was the second book I read. If you have the time for an additional read, why not.

A friend suggested this book, as the advice given there had made the birth of her second child the most beautiful mystical experience of her life, and she had do wished to know its wisdom before having her first child.This book changes my life as a woman, helps me know how to love my baby the right way, prepare to bring him to the World the best possible way and chose the right help.The book is very inspiring and practical and it hugely contributes to health and well-being of women, children and families

This book is seriously a god send! I was terrified of child birth, and now I look forward to it. I’ve never felt so informed and empowered about something so natural. This book is open and honest about what to expect but not in a scary way. If you are going to read one pregnancy book, I think this should be it. I’ve read several, and this one is by far the best. Would make a great gift!Thank you Ina May for all that you do!
