A must-read for kids and parents. Such a cute book. I based this book off of my child's birthday. We had a piggy & pancakes birthday party complete with this book read at story time. The book takes you on a series of events that leads you back to the pig getting a pancake. The book is paperback, but good quality. The paper is thick (well made) and the binding is as expected. Everyone at the party signed the book and I wrote my daughter's favorites (color, food, toy, t.v. show) in the front of the book as a sweet memory from her piggy & pancakes birthday party.

I hate to be overly critical, but I cringe every time a read this to my kids because the story does not flow logically and just sort of wanders around randomly until clumsily trying to bring it around back to pancakes (because hanging wallpaper makes the pig sticky like maple syrup???). I feel the author was just trying to churn out another one. She should have stopped at "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie."

This book is so awesome and dang cute. I read it to some Kindergartners, during their school lunch, which was "brunch" (homemade healthy pancakes, bananas, strawberries, etc.) which is a very popular lunch in our elementary school (right up there with homemade pizza I would say). Regardless, it's an easy read, great pics, for 15 minutes to restless Kindergartners (waiting to go out for recess). Enjoyable for adults to read too!

I purchased this book for my 4 year old nephews birthday. He loves books and I purchased this along with 2 others in this series. He learned the sequence of the books within 3 days of reading them every day. He found the humor in it and loved guessing what was next. Great buy to engage young readers.
